Trust in the Lord
Leti Diaz
Has God given you a vision? Have you seen with your mind’s eye the things that are available to you? Has God given you a dream of what’s yet to come?
If the answer is yes, what are you doing with that dream, that vision, that knowing?
Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report."
Example: Hebrews 11:7 "By faith Noah, being divinely warned of the things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith". Noah was divinely warned of the things not yet seen…
How do you think he was divinely warned?
First of all, Noah feared God, this type of fear in Hebrew is called “Ya-ra”; to cause astonishment and awe, be held in awe; to fear, reverence, honor, respect.
How do you think Noah got to the point where he received inspirational reverential or godly fear?
Noah communed with God, he prayed to Him, developed a relationship with Him. Back in those days he probably sacrificed to Him, and upheld whatever rituals they had during his time. For Noah to get this type of divine warning was most likely because of his close relationship with God. God trusted him with this big life changing task.
Noah received the warning but didn’t just ponder or think about it, or sit on his hands. He acted on that vision, that dream or thought that he knew was from God. He trusted God. He moved forward, he did “something”. Imagine, if he did nothing after receiving this divine warning. Imagine if he would have pushed that thought away and kept on living life; tending to the farm animals, his vegetable garden, his family, etc. Would we be here today? No, I don’t think so.
You see, if you cultivate that relationship with the Lord, possibilities are endless! What has God put in your heart to do? Don’t limit yourself, don’t think that you’re not educated or smart enough, not good enough, not wealthy enough to do the thing that God trusts you to do. If God can trust you with that dream, or vision to do what He has asked you to do, then you need to have faith that He will provide the finances, resources and workers/partners so you can do what He has called you do so that vision can come to pass.
Your obedience to do the task could be the piece of the puzzle that someone needs to accomplish their own task. God will use others to help you and in turn, God can use you to help someone with their vision. You may not know what their task is, and vice versa, but I can assure you that God will put it in our heart to help each other. That help can come in that persons gifting.
Example, a very long time ago I started out with this melody in my head, then I asked God for the words and boom, it came. A friend composed it, and I recorded it with her help. Now years later, I’m taking a trip to Israel, and I had another thought... I wanted this song to be translated into Hebrew. Well, all of a sudden, I thought about this person, I called her and asked if she knew someone who would be able to translate the song, she then gave me the name of this woman helped me translate it. Years later... this song is going to be sung by a group of women along with dancing in Jerusalem. How exciting is that? You see, I had a dream, then acted on that dream, and years later my song is now going to be introduced on the streets of Jerusalem. Had I not had that desire (which God put in my heart) to continue with the melody, the words, etc. We wouldn’t be singing or dancing to this song.
If the Lord can call unschooled fisherman to be apostles, then He can use you and me do to exploits for Him. Don’t limit God, don’t limit yourself… you can do all things through Christ who has called you…
Step out in faith, trust the One who directs your path. Be open to all the possibilities, and don’t fear!
Now, as a step of faith, write down these questions in a notebook (so you can look back at your vision, dream…) and take time to answer them…
- What had God called you to do?
- What dream or vision or desire is on your heart to do?
- What “fear” is causing you to doubt yourself or stop you from accomplishing what God has for you?
- Do you need to get closer to God?
If yes, then I would suggest reading His Word (the bible), pray to Him and
spend time in worship.
Be patient… trust Him, have faith, and see what He can do through you.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
